ABOUT JOE
We are Joe & Allison Brock, and we started Southern Edge Woodworks as a wood shop that specializes in creating custom charcuterie and cutting boards. We are located in the small town of Fuquay-Varina, NC where we are from and live, along with our 2 kids and dog.
All of our charcuterie boards are hand selected and locally sourced out of kiln dried live edge wood slabs. We like to use a variety of wood species like walnut, maple, hickory, and gum for our charcuterie boards, as each type provides a unique color and grain pattern.
Our cutting boards are made from walnut, maple and cherry, or a combination of the three. We use edge grain wood, making them a durable choice for everyday use as a cutting board.
Custom engraving is available for both charcuterie & cutting boards. This can truly make each board one of a kind, either as a special gift or for yourself!

My love of woodworking goes back to when I was in high school and began working for a cabinet shop after school. I continued there through college and afterwards transitioned to a custom residential cabinet shop doing cabinet design for close to 10 years. Since 2014, I’ve been an estimator at a high end custom home builder in the Raleigh area.

Woodworking has been a hobby of mine, but more importantly a passion for over 20 years, ranging from building fences, decks & outdoor play sets for our kids, to building & refinishing furniture for our home as well as friends & family. So, my wife and I decided to turn that passion into a small business and began Southern Edge Woodworks, LLC. Charcuterie boards & cutting boards came naturally with her love of design, entertaining & cooking, matched with my love of woodworking. We are thrilled to be able to work together and share our creations with you.
